Hyderabad : Apollo hospitals admistrate sputnik v vaccine

  Hyderabad: Hyderabad's Apollo Hospitals have begun to administer Sputnik V, a Russian vaccine against COVID-19, as part of a limited pilot program rolled out by Dr Reddy's Laboratories on May 18. Additionally, the vaccine is also available in Hyderabad at Continental Hospitals, according to Sauri Gudlavalleti, global head of the IPDO at Dr Reddy's. The vaccinations will follow the government's Standard Operating Procedures that include registration on CoWIN. Doctor Reddy's will supply the 1.5 lakh doses of Sputnik V vaccine for the pilot program. "This pilot phase will allow Dr Reddy's and Apollo to test the arrangements and cold chain logistics and prepare for the launch. We are confident that with the Sputnik V vaccine, we will be able to make a significant contribution to ease availability and access to Covid vaccines to the community at large," K Hari Prasad, Apollo Hospitals president said as per Times of India. NEET PG Exam postponed by 4 months due to covid pandemic

  The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Post Graduate) was on Monday (May 3) postponed for at least four months amid a spike in COVID-19 cases. The decision to postpone the NEET-PG exam was taken a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the COVID-19 situation across the country. He reviewed various measures to augment human resources to manage the prevailing COVID situation effectively. According to sources, the government does not plan to hold the NEET PG exam 2021 before four months. Also students will be given atleast one month of time after the government announces final exam dates. The government said that it will make a large number of qualified doctors available for COVID-19 duties. This will reduce the workload on the existing doctors engaged in COVID duty and boost the efforts of triaging, it said.
